This is the image for the news article titled Kindergarten Friends Skype to AfghanistanParker Dishman is a kindergarten student at Centennial.  His dad is Chief Warrant Officer Dale Dishman.  Dale is currently a C-12 pilot with the 43rd Operational Support Air Command Detachment in Afghanistan.  To understand what a veteran is, Parker and all of his kindergarten friends used SKYPE to talk with and see Dale.

The students were seated in front of the Smartboard when Parker’s Dad appeared on the screen.  It was magical!  The children asked about his favorite animal, how his airplane works, and even if there is a McDonalds where he lives.  When asked about the language that the people speak, Dale explained that it is very different than our language.  He taught us to say “Yolla, Yolla, Coo”.  That means “Let’s go eat!”

The kindergarten children made a special surprise to send to Afghanistan.  They are all excited to meet Officer Dishman and see his airplane when he returns in March.
