On Friday, February 26th, a group of Centennial students attended the Nebraska Statehood Day recognition event in the rotunda of the State Capitol in Lincoln. Centennial elementary students who participated in the State Fair were recognized as a group and several students were also recognized individually.

The Nebraska State Fair entered the Education Department's wall art category in the International Association of Fairs and Expositions competition in the "class with a theme" division. The artwork of the students who best portrayed the theme of "Autumn in Nebraska" was photographed and included as supporting material for the Fair's entry, which was awarded first place in the international competition. Because of those students' part in bringing the first place award to Nebraska, they were recognized. The students from Centennial were Luke Dey, Dillon Tonniges, Jacob Warm, and Clare Wilton.

William and Clare Wilton were also recognized as Showcase Honorees for their Quilts of Valor service project and as Individual Sweepstakes honorees.
