The Centennial Board of Education is pleased to announce the hiring of Dr. Virginia Moon as Interim Superintendent of Centennial Public School. Dr. Moon’s experience is extensive, including 11 years as Ralston Superintendent, as well as Interim Superintendent positions at Broken Bow Public Schools, Omaha Public Schools, Kearney Public Schools, & most recently at Auburn Public Schools. The Board of Education looks forward to working with Dr. Moon & asks all Centennial families to welcome her to our school district. Dr. Moon’s contract begins immediately and expires on June 30, 2021. The Board of Education will conduct an extensive & thorough search for a permanent Superintendent at the appropriate time & will update the public during the fall about that process. Due to the start of detasseling, weights sessions will now be only on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays beginning July 13th. There will be no weights sessions on Fridays. For athletes that detassel, we will have an evening session available. Coaches will communicate with these athletes on times for the evening session. Go Broncos!
Like many of the schools in the area & state, Centennial is working to determine what the start of the school year will look like. Our hope & goal is that we will be starting school on time with students in the building. The administration will be working with our local health department to determine how we can safely start school & will be meeting to finalize plans at the end of July. Things are constantly changing & we are trying to stay up to date with the latest information. We will share more information with you no later than Aug. 3rd. A1 Southern Cooking will be serving our 2020 grads a free meal on Thursday, 6/11, from 5PM-7PM. Class of 2020 - come to the east parking lot of the school to enjoy their Mega Nachos meal & a snow cone!
The plan that we submitted to Four Corners Health Dept has been approved & so we are planning to have a graduation ceremony on Sat, June 27, 2020 at 10AM. The ceremony will take place outside on the track/football field area. More details to come as we finalize things.
